General Skin and Nail Care

We are able to diagnose and treat a variety of skin and nail conditions. Including the following:

  • corns and callus

  • cracked heels

  • warts

  • ingrown toenails

  • discoloured, thick toenails

Callus & Corns and Cracked Heels

Are thickened areas of skin on your feet that can cause pain when you walk. They are the result of excess pressure or friction. They can occur under feet, between toes or around heels. They form to protect underlying tissue and are part of the body’s defence system.

Ingrown Toenails

Are very common and can affect people of all ages. They occur when the nail grows into the skin around it and causes pain, tenderness, swelling and if left untreated can become infected. They can often be the result of trauma, the way toenails are trimmed, the shape of the nail or poor fitting footwear.

Warts

Are a viral infection affecting the skin, particularly hands and feet. They are caused by the Human Papilloma Virus and are passed on through broken areas of the skin. They can be very painful if they occur in weight bearing areas of the foot.

Orthotics Using a 3D Scanner

Orthotics are used to treat pain and prevent injury. They are custom designed specifically for your needs, following a gait and biomechanics assessment. A 3D scanner is used to capture the contours of your feet so the device is as comfortable as possible. The turnaround time after ordering is 1 week.
